Thorny Situation

I'm not at all happy with this shot. I've taken other photos of this same plant that were MUCH better, just not on this day.
The light is wrong and the colors turned out too red. Eh, it's all I got.

The name goes with this! The thorns are so prominent. It is a nice photo. The lighting and color is good. How can anything be too red. Red is beautiful. You are hard on yourself.

Maybe the contrast was too strong? I've had similar issues with taking photos of reddish things, and I've found that buming the exposure compensation down helps.
