Scallop shell (Petinidae) up close and personal my entry in the macro shell challenge. (best viewed on black)
Gosh, that really is close.. loving the many colours and textures.. it's beautiful as is but... on black it shines...

@jorlam Thank you for your great comments, well the brief was macro and that's about as close as I could get and still retain some sharpness :)

@onewing Thought you may be interested how it was achieved Babs, raised the shell on a black card on the kitchen worktop next to a window, set the camera on manual focus at f22 and just sat it on the worktop then moved the shell until it filled the frame and was in focus, three shots was all I took:)
