@onewing Thank you Babs its a great area to spend some time, the Hall is set in a 500 acre Park all open to the public and owned by maintained by Nottingham Corporation since following the death of the 10th Lord Middleton, the hall and estate was sold to cover death duties in 1923, it was an 800 acre estate but the corporation sold off 300 acres for housing development:)

@stray_shooter Thank you its a lovely place and would you believe your fellow countrymen where stationed here in WWII,
During World War II American troops of the 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, part of the U.S. 82nd Airborne Division, were billeted here, waiting to be parachuted into Europe, which they did in June 1944. A plaque is sited in the grounds commemorates this event and their losses, after the war German prisoners of war were billeted here for employment in the locality between 1945 and 1947 some of then allowed to settle in the UK:)
