Nice use of the large aperture - concentrates attention on the pen. Watched an episode of Morse on DVD a few nights ago - he used a fountain pen, and had a bottle of ink on his desk too!
I'm sure such books deliberately leave out some ingredients, all my attempts to replicate dishes fail miserably. I like you image though, and I'm also appreciating the fountain pen
Too much of a bokeh. ;-) I can't see the title of your books, except one on Italian kitchen (why kitchen? shouldn't it be cuisine?). Anyway, very good picture! And nice pen.
@caterina I didn't want to be accused of advertising! As you're interested, left hand is "Kitchen Diaries", Nigel Slater, middle is "Jamie at Home" by Jamie Oliver, and next is "Italian Kitchen" by Anna del Conte (credited with being one of the earliest writers on authentic Italian cuisine for the UK market), and the final right hand one is a "Salad for all Seasons" by Harry Eastwood. As mentioned, "Polpo" is the one open on the worktop. The page open features a rocket and walnut pesto crostini (which I have tried, gorgeous).
Books, a blank sheet and such an elegant example of that which is mightier than the sword - a thought provoking list and an interesting image. I've read the comments and now feel hungry.
