Heading back to my local accommodation near Hull, it's possible to see across the Vale of York (a large plain seperating the Penines in the west from the Yorkshire Wolds and North Yorkshire Moors in the east). This small group of towers you can see at the bottom of the picture is the Ferrybridge Power Station, located on the far eastern outskirts of Leeds.
Many thanks for all of your recent comments, favs and support, very much appreciated.
A beautiful sunset - and you have got three power stations on this shot!. The one with the cooling towers emitting steam is Drax (now powered by biomass, and the only one still generating), over the roof of the generating plant is the remains of Eggborough (coal fired, now being decomissioned and patly demolished) and towards the right the most distant of the three, Ferrybridge (coal again), now with only three of its eight cooling towers still standing. Fav!
