High up on a hill above Skopelos Town you can find Timios Prodromos monastery, dating from the 17th century. It remains open as a working monastery, but when we visited the "work" is undertaken by one resident and lay volunteers and so is very restricted in nature. We did buy some of their jam, which was very nice!
