My city upbringing means I don't know what this crop is, although I think it might be wheat?

Anyway, a walk along the Darent Valley, Kent,UK, in beautiful sunshine. I can't quite work out what it is about this shot that appeals to me, but it does!

It'll be more obvious what it is when it has grain heads. Barley tends to flop over, wheat heads stand taller.
