A filthy day for an airshow - grey sky, rain, mist, but what can you do? The low cloud limited the flying displays but the Red Arrows still had the crowd gasping in astonishment at their miraculous precision and skill.
I remember the last time I was at the airshow the weather was the same, but grey sky worked well for the shots. Here it enhances the multicoloured traces. Great shot, love it!
My father was a fighter pilot in the RAF. Flew spitfires and trained in the Prairies which is how and why we came to be born and brought up in Canada. NOT the Prairies I hasten to add......So shots of planes and references to same are very familiar to me. Thanks so much for joining my tiny team.
No, sadly, living in Toronto where he and my mother emigrated to in the 50s. He's 91 and very frail in a nursing home. Ask him what he ate for breakfast today and he couldn't even tell you if he's had breakfaast. Ask him what he ate for breakfast on VE Day and he can remember every mouthful. We moved back in the mid 80s. I visit regularly as you'll also see from my album. Oh Canada, my home and native land and all that kind of thing.......
So sorry I've gotten so far behind and missed this until after it was on the PP, Peter! congrats on that - but even more on such a wonderful shot! Grand job. . .
