Home late from work, so a quick shot from the kitchen. I've dropped the clarity right down on this, and played around with the highlights and shadows. I quite like the result and think this is an area I'll have to explore!

Nicely done. I like what you've done with the clarity: it looks like a very gentle Orton effect, not at all overblown in the way that Orton can be.
