Lol, Peter! :D I'm sure you're being too hard on yourself, I'm sure they weren't all rubbish! But I can totally feel your frustration - your Plan B works well with the blue tones and nice dof. Keep at it, you'll get the water shot, too! :)
Water is so frustrating, but so rewarding when you get the one (and there is usually only one amongst a session that usually flattens the battery!). Michelle Young did a great water crown about a week ago and told us how she did it... check her out, it sounded almost foolproof!!
Anyway, this is a great, and certainly more original, photo, I really like the colours, the composition and the edgy feel! Well done Peter.
