city at night

Another bucket list shot was a view of old Greenwich with Canary Wharf in the background, but events and the weather have conspired against me. Please do not view large!!! The green laser marks the line of the Greenwich meridian - established in 1884 as the Prime Meridian used to set time across the globe.

Thanks for all your wonderful comments over recent days, I appreciate every one. I am now out of town for a few days so won't have the opportunity to finish my project until the weekend.
Scuppered on your last day?! Bugger. Are you doing 365 or 366. I challenge you not to post a mosaic on your last day

You're being way too hard on yourself, Peter! This shot looks really great large and I really like the cityscape. (And I can't believe you're already almost there, done, finished... Hope to see you continue here, even when you have posted your final shot.)

@twocups James, thanks. I feel I ought to do 366 as it was a Leap Year. Have no bleedin' idea what to do for the last shot!

@joa Johanna, you're being very kind, as usual. Thank you!
January 29th, 2013

A familiar scene, I only live 35 minutes outside London and often travel up to the big smoke... you have really bought it to life in this night shot! Don't beat yourself up Peter, you have been in overdrive the last few weeks, ticking off bucket list shots fast and furious! See you at the end of the week!

As JackieS has said this is a good picture, I used to pass this daily and your picture looks like the real thing, well captured.

I think it is a beautiful cityscape. So that green line is really visible to the naked eye in person??
January 29th, 2013
Wonderful - thanks, Peter.

Great shot. I'd say better viewed large. Love the city lights and this fabulous green marker.

Whoop, Peter!! Even going out of town, you'd better start celebrating. This is really a wonderful shot, and I'm like Fanny - never knew there was a laser line marking the real thing! Can't wait to see whatever you give us as the grand finale. . .but know for sure that it's been a grand ride! :->

@jonesp Thanks, Paul, for the congratulations. Just a quick note for now but I will catch up when I actually finish (if you see what I mean!).
January 31st, 2013
You will have to explain to me what a 'bucket list' is! The meridian line is well captured here
February 1st, 2013
@yrhenwr A list of things you want to do - I think it was originally intended to be "before I kick the bucket" list, but it seems to have morphed into any list of things you want/need to do. In my case it's "By the end of the project" list :-)

@peadar Ah I see - yet another euphemism to avoid mentioning death! A serious fear of mortality pervades western society!
February 1st, 2013
This is amazing, it's as if they all turned on their lights so that you could take your photo!
