Well, here we are eventually! Work and other commitments meant I couldn't quite finish the project in the way I would have liked, but we got there in the end. I have never been really pleased with any sky shots I have posted, so I thought I had to make one last try - and as soon as I saw this I knew instantly it had worked in a way I could be happy with. And, a sunset on my 365+1 project (because of the Leap Year last year). I did think about doing clever things and painting "365" into the sky, but in the end decided against. Simplicity is always best, I feel!
A big thank you to all of you who have commented, followed, fav-ed, joked and laughed, and offered so much support throughout the year. I didn't really imagine the enormity of this thing once you get going and into the flow of things. I don't think I could have done it without the fantastically supportive environment on this site. Thank you all so much.
Did it meet the objective - to improve my photography? Well, you'll have to judge, but I have enjoyed re-discovering things about photography I had long forgotten, and also exploring new techniques and trying new approaches, all inspired by the very many talented photographers who post images on this site. I've posted many awful and mundane images, but there have been some I am really proud of, and it was always nice to get something onto the Popular Page - even if it wasn't always the images I thought were worthy of it!!!
I have also very much enjoyed watching and following some very special and talented photographers - in some cases just in awe of your dedication and natural talent, in others watching your photography improve in leaps and bounds over the year. All of those I followed have inspired me in different ways and I am so grateful to you all.
I am still undecided about whether to carry on or not. I guess I'll take a bit of a break and see what happens.
Sniff, sniff (blows nose on tissue...) Peter, what a genuine and sincere farewell. I have valued your support and friendship and enjoyed your project, all of it... The highs and the lows, and especially the market series, your negative clarity and bucket list photos were memorable too. This is a great symbolic photo, the sunset of your year on here. Enjoy a break and please come back to see us soon! Oh, and fav too!

As for continuing the project.......I think you should atleast continue until you check off everything on that bucket list you made... and then of course you have to make a new list.... and what am I gonna do without your market day shots??? Yes...I think you need to stick around another year..... for sure... yep... that solves that... you're stuck with us for a while longer :) :)

Peter, Well Done on completeing your project and what a fantastic Picture to finnish with. As a very new person to 365 Project it is seeing such outsatnding pictures like yours which gives me the encouragement to work hard in perfecting my photography skills. I very much hope to see you around this excellent site for a few more years.
More 'sniff, sniffs'!! now who's leg can I pull?!! Its been such fun as well as instructive to me following you, well done on your grand finale and I'm sure you will resist for a while but in the end you will come back to the fold!!! Fabulous sunset......what a flourish and a a fav!

Congratulations on completing your project. I think it's a big deal. Now take some time to relax and enjoy the break and than get back to continue with your bucket list. Take care.

@bluefirebucket Mick, yes, I am feeling slightly strange, in fact, I am still searching for shots every day, but it is a bit of a relief not to HAVE to take them. Thank you for all your comments, favs, jokes, laughs and general support. I think we may well be the only two people on 365 who actually know who Heath Robinson was, and you seem to be carrying the tradition on in admirable style. Keep it up! @peadar I'm a bit late on this, but WELL DONE for completing! I went straight into another year and am finding that I am really struggling with it and feeling a little burnt out, so I think a break may be needed for me, too! I just wish I wasn't so stubborn about taking one :) If you ever do decide to come back I will be happy to follow you once more! :D
