I experimented today with a daisy and vase against a frosted window pane. The flower in this photo was backlit so naturally silhouetted. I increased the highlights in post processing, whiting out the background entirely. I like how this emphasizes the simple flower form and block of blue. It's something different from me. I usually feel the call to go looking for a shot; today I created one.
I'm the same, I generally try to find something to photograph. It is fun though to create an image from the items you already have, and with software like Photoshop to process the image we can all be artists. This photo is a reflection of your creative side, well done.
An imaginative and creative shot Lisa. Although you say it's something different, you still have that geometric shape in there which characterises many of your photos.
@twistergirl About the background, it was pretty easy. I figured it out just by experimenting with Picasa. The background was a bathroom window, opaque and white to begin with. The entire photo was somewhat dark and I wanted to adjust the brightness so I added that in the "tuning" selection. It increased the highlights and since the background was whitish, the remaining texture just disappeared. I am not expert on editing. Just learning as I go along, but I hope that makes sense.
@pflaume Makes perfect sense. I use the MS photo editor on my computer and it probably has the same tools, just different names. I think the key is the light background. I'm going to give it a try. Thanks so much!
