Another day, another water feature! I came across the third fountain this week and just had to photograph it. This fountain is made of blue-black granite in a flat-topped, cylinder shape. The water sits serenely on the surface of the cylinder and then spills over the edge. When I took this shot, it happened to be "golden hour" nearing sunset and the top of the fountain was reflecting the warm light. I like the contrast of the seemingly golden water that magically turns to blue as it falls.
Thank you all for your kind and uplifting comments on my post yesterday. I can't tell you how much I appreciated them.
A wonderful shot Lisa :-)
I love the movement you got in to the water without slowing the shutter speed right down, and beautiful lighting and shadows :-)
I need to find water now - you've inspired me :-)
You're so imaginative Lisa, the way you see possibilities in the most ordinary scenes. Your talent really shines through. The colours and lighting in this are stunning.
What a great capture. Shutter speed choice was perfect for capturing the water and freezing that moment. I like the contrasting colors and especially the beautiful blue that comes through.
I love the light on the surface, and as you pointed out, how the water becomes a cool blue. I can't believe your fountains are running already! Too cold for that here.
@rvwalker Thank you so much for that compliment, Ross. I am still so new to this and working on hard on composition so I am glad that it shows to you. I really appreciate your support and encouragement! Thank you again.
@dolphin Thank you so much for this generous compliment. It is a wonderful feeling for me to know that my photos are received this way. I truly appreciate your commentary and support.
