I wanted to stay true to Black White Wednesdays, but the world was beating in color. I was close to giving up and settling for a cheery flower shot when I stopped by a new building on the university campus. I liked the repeating lines and shapes in the columns and benches that I found there. Whew! BWW failure averted.
I turned one of my shots into mostly mono today because it is Wednesday! I'm so glad you trained my brain to think mono. This is quite good. Lovely lines and contrast--composition is always good with you! :)
This is my kind of shot - love the lines and repetition - the benches are particularly good. Perfect for B&W as well. I've also got a lot out of making myself think about having at least one shot a week in black and white - it is a different thought process isn't it - so thank you for that! I may even attempt a month of B&W, but later in the year, when there's not so much colour around.
oh this is lovely - i stupidly thought B&W wednesday was for a limited period only - must remember it too as will make me look for different kinds of shots :o)
@darylo Thank you, Daryl! So nice that you remember BWW. I find it's a good habit to be thinking in BW. It's definitely a different way of looking at things.
Great composition and lines Lisa, wish I was better at b&w, something I definitely need to improve on! Hopefully I will learn from seeing great shots like this.
