I was on my way to one of my favorite walking paths when I noticed the frost on the pavement of the parking lot was shimmering in the morning light. To get a low POV, I lay down in the empty parking lot. I was busy shooting away when a sheriff pulled up. He was alarmed by the sight of a body down and thought I was in trouble or worse! He looked visibly relieved that he didn't have a crime scene or an emergency on his hands but I think mystified when I explained what I was doing. :)
The layers and colors of the bokeh have a celestial quality to me hence the title.
I had to fav this -- imagining you lying on the ground and the cop coming up is one step more than my being kicked out of the zoo!! And the result is terrific -- the two lines of bokeh from the reflection are fabulous.
bokeh-licious ,,... only your creative eye could have seen this oppurtunity .. can completely imagine the scene ... you described ... lol ... I have done that a couple of times .... though I run the risk of being disowned by family ... big Fav for this!!
Stunning shot! FAV for it's dreamy glittery beauty and the hilarious story to go with it. I can just picture it, if he could see it he would understand
"No officer, I'm ok! I'm just taking a pic of the frost on the street!" Lol! I love it! Those poor people out there that just don't get us! Look at all they are missing out of life! :o) This is fantastic, Lisa! Fav!
Absolutely stunning image. Fantastic POV. Love the colors. And... what a great story behind the photo. Good thing an officer didn't see me laying in the gutter to get my fall shot of colorful leaves on the grates of storm sewers for GRT.
Oh yeah! Since I met you, I can really picture the scene. I'll bet you got a friendlier response from the sheriff than I would have. Fav for this beautiful shot and for the big laugh I got out of your story.
This is wonderful and I love your story. I'm glad you didn't get run over. I was taking pictures at a park once and a police man drove into the parking lot I was in but he didn't get out of the car. I wasn't lying on the ground, though (if I was, I probably wouldn't have been able to get up, HeeHee). This is a Fav!
Oh this is so gorgeous and a fave! What a great adventure you had to get the shot. I had police stop several times when I have pulled off the road just to check on me. I always like that they took the time to check out a woman alone on the road. But I have never scared one like you did! ha, ha.
fav! gorgeous! Good eye to spot this. I was all stooped over this weekend, at the lake, on the dock stairs, and these fishermen in a boat said "Are you okay over there?" They thought I was passing out. And today, taking the crystal ball shot..I was on the side of the highway, arm outstretched, with a crystal ball in it. They probably thought I was totally nuts. or a fortune teller. Or both.
Knew this was a winning shot, HUGE congrats on getting a double TT, your shots are so worthy of it. Hope you are enjoying your wee break, I am, but looking forward to seeing you again real soon x
@archaeofrog Thank you, Katie! I really wish I could send a copy to the sheriff! He would be amazed I'm sure. He really did look at me like I wasn't all right in the head! :)
@jo13 Thank you, Jo! So kind of you to say. I am enjoying the break but it does feel odd at times. I can't stay entirely away... had to check in just a bit. :) How about you? Are you enjoying a little pause from the grind?
What a funny story leading up to the taking of this photo! If it were me I'd probably be arrested for public intoxication :) This is well worth being on the PP! +F
Wow, thanks so much for sharing this! This image is gorgeous. You have inspired me to try again with the dew next rainstorm we have. But yes, I love all the beautiful rainbow color in this against that dark blue, it's so pretty!
@hayleymolloycook Thank you, Haley. It's one of my favorites. Definitely try again. Whenever you see the light dancing in the dew or frost, whatever it is. I think it helps to get on the same level of whatever you are shooting. Also, I have had the best luck with a telephoto lens and a wide aperture, but play around and see what you get Thank you for your comment and fav!

THANK YOU, dear 365 friends! I am still quite stunned to see my photo in the number one spot. And, to have a second in the Top 20 is amazing to me. What a way to both end the year and begin a new one. Thank you for celebrating with me. You have all blessed my life. I am very thankful to share this journey with you!
