With this photo I complete my first 365 Project. What an amazing feeling of accomplishment it is! I had no idea how this project would grab ahold of me and become the focus of my life over 2013. With each passing day, I became more invested in it and more motivated to learn and improve. I have to admit that some days I cursed it, feeling burdened and uninspired. But, mostly, it brought me great joy and fulfillment.
Heartfelt thanks to this community. I learned so much about photography from studying your work and reading the discussion boards. I appreciated you sharing your talent and knowledge so freely. It was an unexpected delight to make online friendships both near and far. I looked forward every day to seeing the world through your lenses. Mostly, thank for your support. Your visits, comments, and favs were a constant source of motivation and inspiration for me. I mean it when I say I could not have done this without you.
To my non 365 friends and family members who viewed my posts and cheered me on. Thank you for taking the time out of your lives to drop by and check in on my little project. It has meant a lot to me.
I end this year with a selfie - my first ever and one I never thought I would post. It seemed like the right time to step out from behind the camera and just be me.
I will be continuing on in Year 2 after a short break. I plan to spend January organizing my photos, making an album of the year, and just recharging a bit. It’s my goal to be back in February (if I can stay away that long!).
For any who might be interested, I made a photo slideshow of some of my favorite images from the year. It is located in my Extras album.

@pflaume sadly i have far too many chickens on / thru fences :o( yes, i can totally see 365 needing some kind of rehab but being a release too - you should perhaps be thinking about printing and selling your work - so long { until you are back!! }
I am a little late to the party too, Lisa. But I hope you remember me from my previous incarnations. I had to stop (for the second time), and start a low key project as it all just got too big for me. I have enjoyed watching you grow and develop into a 365 icon. Kudos to you, sister, you are talented and creative, and nice to see a selfie from you after all this time! An icon is too big of a word for me, but I can agree on the growth and development. Same to you, my friend. I have so enjoyed following your photography and have often wished I could tag along for some of your night photography. I know I could learn so much from you. I know you have had a lot of job stress in your life over the last year. I hope things in that area have settled down and you are in a good place again. So glad you are continuing here.
