Didn't have much time to shoot a photo today, so while shopping at our local ASDA (Walmart to North American viewers) I noticed that if you look north from the top of the ASDA car park (1 storey car park), you can just about get a half decent picture.
Looking north the local parish church (St. Mary's) dominates the skyline. I shot this with a long zoom so as to crop out the nearby buildings (an ugly early 1970's concrete library and leisure centre building).
The image works better in black and white as the blue sky was a gentle washed out spring blue, rather than a rich blue. YOu may also notice that the trees are still quite bare as the hard winter has meant spring is quite late.
If you look south, east or west from the car park, the view is not quite as nice !!!
Anyway this is my image for today, a quick shot from the toplevel of a 1 storey car park.
Well it just goes to show - if you look hard enough you can find something beautiful wherever you are (though without the benefit of a bit of height I'm struggling to think what I might find outside Cambridge Asda)!
@judithg Judith, , it is a serious crop to remove a few ugly buildings on the high street , just goes to show how the camera can lie. I am sure Cambridge ASDA is a nicer experience than our ASDA . I'm sure Cambride ASDA is finest !! (hmmm wrong supermarket)
@gill Thanks Gill, it is probably a case of the camera 'fibbing' , making scene look better than what you see with the naked eye. The houses in the foreground are council house circa 1950's, the houses you can see behind the church are part of a modern estate from the 1980's !
@allie912 Thanks Allison, the Asda store (Walmart) is quite a large store , they have plans to expand , the redevelpment involves ...how can I say this ...knocking down the library !!!.....but they plan to rebuild another .
