Well 7 days later, she is rescued and now at home with us.
This is a picture of her in her new home, watcing attentively as we prepare her lunch.
She's a black and white dog, so although I've converted my image to black and white (to remove the distracting purple blanket) , it is a failry accurate representation of her colours.
After her lunch and a walk in the fresh air she made herself at home on our sofa and watched the football (soccer) with me :)
I think I will be posting quite a few whippet pictures on here
@shadowdancer Thank you Shadow, I don't think my photo does her justice, she really is pretty. I should have used a fill in flash to capture this shot , but I didn't want to upset her, because it a stressfull time for her :)
@phil_howcroft : I understand very well why you didn't want to use flash. It's all new for her and she still needs to learn to trust you, and adjust to her new home. I'm sure you'll show us many more pictures of her in the future, so we can see how beautiful she is. :-)
@sarahhorsfall Ahh Sarah , well spotted, I missed her name from the narrative...well it's a long story about her name....we had a short list of names, but Ruby was perhaps the fave....then after we agreed to adopt / rescue her we drove out of the rescue centre (last week) , put the car radio on and the first song to play was......'Ruby' by the Kaiser Chiefs...so it just had to be Ruby !
Oh Phil, Ruby is so sweet! I love the story about her name. She already looks so content in her loving new home, and what a bonus that she watches soccer!
Look, she's smiling - and 365 has a warm and fuzzy feeling this morning! Clearly you're both smitten - she's a little beauty and a lucky dog. A little disappointed you didn't call her Mrs Whippy though I suppose Ruby is nice enough for The Kaiser Chiefs to send psychic guidance ;0)
@gill Gill, thank you for the comments. Her eyes are indeed nice. Not the best photograph from a technical point of view, but it captured a nice moment :)
Phil, she is lovely - what have you called her? We've always kep greyhounds / lurchers always from rescue homes. They are such great family pets - great characters and such fun! She looks gorgeous - great processing!
