When I returned home from work tonight, I was surprised to see that my two hanging baskets that sit either side of our porch had disappeared.
Somebody, thought it was OK to steal them.
In the grand scheme of things it is hardly a major crime, but it somehow reflects how disrespectful some people are in our society.
So this is my picture of the day.....a lonely bracket on the wall....... only a few hours ago the bracket was supporting a basket full of beautiful flowers and summer colours.
Anyway here are links to the images I took of the baskets:
Jesus! seriously, what a set of f*********K**SS.
i know it makes for a funny shot for today, but sorry to hear that mate.
And i know its'only' those baskets, but that's not the point..oh i'm cross with ya.
Oh no!!! Thank goodness you took some photos. I suppose you should be flattered but how outrageous. Somebody stole our poshly carved pumpkin one Halloween but that was never going to survive that long. Also somebody dug a shrub up out of our front garden - maybe you will spot them somewhere and you will have the photos to prove they are yours. With a bit of luck they will have a big aphid inside that will escape and munch through their garden. You can have 1 all on Wordsworth now I know you're bereft!!!
what bastards... funny coincidence... heard on radio today, a council in Devon are going tostart micro chipping their hanging baskets cos they're always being half-inched..
How low can they stoop or how high can they swoop? Nothing is sacred anymore. :-( Fancy having to microchip your hanging baskets LOL! I hope they have gone to a good home and are being looked after properly even if they were got by theft - tho I like Judith's monster aphid idea. That is the trouble with being an ace gardener Phil it brings out the green eyed monster in the light but not green fingered lurking in the hedges looking for garden trophies to lift. They knew top quality when they saw it.
I saw the shot and immediately thought has someone tea leafed your baskets? It think it is a tremendous post - look at the emotional response it as had on your followers! And clearly you are not alone. it was a really mean thing to do and if they are happy to do that I wonder what else never pricks their conscience that they are doing. I suspect that small crimes may often lead to big crimes.
Are you kidding me? Are you Ruby didn't snag them and bury them out back? Okay, okay. That angel would never do such a thing. I cannot believe the things people do sometimes. I'm glad we got to enjoy your beautiful hanging baskets through your photos, at least for a little while. :)
WTF? That's just scummy. Its surprising how low some people will sink. Somebody has been stealing the ripe fruit from our allotment this year too, I guess some peoples moral compass is not set right!
So sorry about that, Phil! You made them look sooo beautiful that they were simply irresistable ... (PS: Now that this crook knows where the best hanging baskets in town are to be found, how about a chain and padlock??)
I had a beautiful ceramic planter taken right from my front step just as brazen as can be. It still rankles 2 years later. What is especially troublesome is that I will not replace it, and the neighborhood has been deprived of a lovely spot of color. So you see crime compromises society in many ways.
Your flowers were truly beautiful. At least you have some lovely photos to remember them.
@allie912 ha ha Allison, I think Robin Hood was meant to be a goodie ..the nearest we come to Robin Hood is a bar / pub in Arnold named after the dodgy outlaw !!
@cath Catherine, you are ahead of me already.......yesterday I made some more baskets , but this time I have padlocked them to the brackets !!!! How sad is that :(
omg that is just so ...***** after all that work and pride in what you had achieved too!! I'm afraid we even have this in rural Suffolk. Our friends up the road have those bicycle padlock things round theirs!! How about printing off a couple of youe photos, putting them in a plastic envelope and sticking them to the wall behind...just to let passers by know what happened.....also a sign saying ...if you see these baskets, let us know!!! A damn poor show I'd say!!
Just saw this - That is awful! What is wrong with people?
Where was the guard hound while this crime was taking place??? hahaha Something tells me she'd lick them to death!

I'm just glad you took photos of them and shared them with us before they disappeared
