Football is back -2 .. a follow on from my football is back !! image on Saturday
The football season has started again and last night I went to watch Arnold Town play Winterton Rangers in the NCEL League Cup First Round.
This is my attempt at an action shot, it shows an Arnold Town forward trying to wriggle free from two centre halves inside the six yard box !!
Arnold Town play at a 'eagle Valley' - a relatively new football ground on the outskirts of Arnold (they used to play at a ground in the centre of the town - behind the market - but it's a long story on why they had to relocate outside of the town centre)
Arnold Town lost 2-1 (aet - after extra time)
Oh I will be doing a Football is back - 3 at the weekend when I see my beloved Bolton Wanderers of the EPL play the richest club in the world ..Manchester City
@whippeteer thanks Frances, the lens was a sigma 70-300mm , it's quite heavy but takes decent images if the light is OK. It struggles a bit when the light is not good and there is no image stabilisation on it ! It was a recommended 'budget buy' in a photo magazine when I bought it a few years ago !
The light wasn't that good on Tuesday, but the sun did come out for a few minutes. I took over 100 shots in the first half, tracking the action is quite difficult. I don't know if the image is a bit under exposed
@happypat thanks Pat, it's early season so the pitch is quite green. Actually it's not that good and, it's quite bobbly and the grass is not top quality. Thanks for the 'Bolton support' :)
@jenrobcarr Jennifer thanks for your comments.....football fans of smaller clubs (Bolton) always find the season more stressful and tense, so the words 'enjoy' are not commonly used !!!!!!
