Withered Rose by phil_howcroft

Withered Rose

This is a sad picture.

It's a pink rose that we should have 'dead headed' a while ago.

I's behind our shed, so a it's a bit out of the way, hence no 'dead heading'.

We've still got roses in bloom and they will probably make an appearance on here before they fade away.

I don't really know if this warrants a place on my 365, but it has a certain amount of interest. You can still see the last bits of pink among the dry dead petals.

I hope it's not too sad a picture, but this is what nature does

Great colours and textures - I don't think it's a sad picture, it's all part of the ebb and flow of nature, isn't it? :o)

I hope it was called Lady Haversham's rose... Great Expectations for next year though!

Filled a compost bin with dead heads this year. Then one of the bushes flowered again. What a funny year.

No this is a great photo, you can see all the bits of black & yet there is a beauty about it somehow ! i know what you mean about being a little sad but you can still see it's last flash of pink !!! Not gone yet !!!

certainly reflects the change of season Phil - and the circle of life. i've got plenty of plants in the garden that need chopping about but it feels wrong to do it whilst they are still in flower (they are obviously confused as to the weather and season status!)

A very lost last blossom! It must have been beautiful in its time.
