This is two shoppers taking a short cut down Peck Lane, Nottingham. The church you can see at the end of the lane is St. Peters church
It's not a very well know short cut, the streets that run parallel to it (approx 50 and 200 metres away) are thronging with shoppers ! What a good word thronging is to slip into a 365 narrative.
I thought of converting this to B/W, but I like the contrast between the brick and drainpipes. Pity about the air con extracrot fan on the right hand side.
I like this in color and the contrasts you speak of! The fan is not a distraction to me. The ladies are great... makes me wonder where they've been shopping and what they bought... whether they will turn right or left and the end of the lane. Very nice shot, Phil! Good work!
Interesting! I like the church window between the stoney walls. We have shortcuts like that, too, in our town, very ancient passages which make it easy to imagine the life in previous centuries.
@marlboromaam thank you marlboro :), when I'm shooting in public places , a lot of my shots are grab shots, I just see the shot and shoot ! If I'd been a bot more careful here, I could have moved to the right and got the whole of the church window in :)
Yes the contrast of the drain pipes & brick work is lovely & I like the height of the whole photo too, accentuates the narrowness of there passage ! I always find these short cuts very interesting & you never know where you are going to pop out !!
Oh yes, the color contrast between brick and pipe makes this shot! And I agree with @happypat the proportions of the photo are another plus. Great capture!
