Kick Off Time at the Reebok : Bolton Wanderers 3 Liverpool 1
This is kick off time at the Reebok Stadium ..17:30 hours kick off time on a Saturday Evening ...stupid time for a match...but all done to keep the TV sports channels happy....forget about kick off times to keep supporters happy ..TV ratings are all that matters in the world of English Premier League Football.
Anyway I did not have much to complain about as my team played our best football of the season as we beat Liverpool 3-1 !!
The victory has given us hope of avoiding relegation as we creeped out of the relegation places :) with the fine victory.
To use a load of football clichés....it was a cracking game of footie, a superb atmosphere, clinical finishing in front of goal by Bolton, a game played at breathtaking pace, Liverpool were taken to the cleaners as our midfield swarmed all over the men in red (enough clichés for you there?....ok here's a few more ...it was not a game of two halves...King Kenny had a moan .... Liverpool's multi million pound team were a shadow of what they used to be)
As for the picture, it's shot from my seat in the East Stand Lower as the players wait for the ref's whistle to start the game ! It's a bit grainy as the little panny TZ7 does struggle a bit when lighting is not the best !
The two hour plus journey home over a windswept Pennines was for once almost enjoyable :)
Glad you were happy with the result! :-) I used to be a huge soccer fan when I was younger; these days, I'm just a fan of the German national team. I was looking forward to the European Soccer Championship this summer, especially as Germany has a great team, but now I don't think I will watch due to the mass killings of dogs and cats in the Ukraine. It is horrible what they're doing over there, I'm very disappointed.
@shadowdancer It is horrifying how people will pervert the best of life's impulses and activities. As an American I was not aware of this shameful plan. Just the idea that there are government-sanctioned crematoriums is dreadful. I hope international publicity can effect a change.
Love the vivid color and energy of this shot, Phil. Hard to believe you took it with a little P&S. Looks like you were rewarded for your loyalty to your team.
Nice one Phil!! @shadowdancer they are dining that for the tournament? Well they choose places for tournaments based on all the wrong reasons - a friend of mine is on the anti-bribery and corruption compliance panel at FIFA now so she'll knock some sense in to them...
@judithg : Thanks, Judith! They're "cleaning" the streets from stray cats and dogs, some of them burned alive... Many organizations tried to stop them (and as far as I know, FIFA and UEFA have been informed), and petitions have been signed, but as far as I know, they're still doing it... :-(
@anron aah but Anita, with the Snooker you don't sit in freezing weather, wind rain and sub zero temps.....and rive 240+ miles to see it....see what you miss with live sport :)
@rf20 Rich , East Stand Lower Row P end of row just inside half way circle....won't be at the Arsenal match ...cannot do midweek matches ...oh and FACup 4 is a no no too !!!
@allie912 : Well, there IS already a lot of publicity, thanks to Facebook and various blogs, which is a good thing... But nonetheless, the killing goes on... I wonder what's wrong with these people? :-(
@shadowdancer I have a friend whose husband is a retired criminal defense lawyer. He took a year off and at his own expense moved to Ukraine to help them set up a legal system based on the premise of "innocent until proven guilty" After a year he left feeling he had made absolutely no headway. The courts and police operated on the idea that if you were arrested you must be guilty. Very frustrating for anyone from the West.
Had to give a double take at the scoreline here Phil...SURELY BW didn't pull one out the bag for you...or even three? great game you must be grinning!!
you forgot to mention about your pick if anyone can spot the £38mil donkey in the red.
I also googled about the cats and dogs in the Ukraine....it's very sad indeed :(
