This is an old railway cutting that once took trains from Daybrook and Arnold into Nottingham.
It's now a nature trail (allegedly)...in recent years the council have spent a bit of money tidying the area up and making it worth a little stroll.
You could never get a train through the cutting now .....the gap under the bridge has been filled leaving just this dark and slightly menacing hole / tunnel !!!
I converted the image to B/W as it seems to add a bit of mood and atmosphere to a rather dull Sunday afternoon.
When you look at the image it looks as the the horizontals are sloping, but the road above is on an incline and I don't think the hole is actually square.............hmm maybe I'm trying to convince myself that my photo is level and is accurate.
I was just thinking Phil's gone wonky but actually when you look harder it's not clear that the path is off - could be an optical illusion! They haven't been very 'lone pedestrian at night' friendly with that tunnel but it will stop people driving down!
great B&W - the lamposts should be the things you levelled against, unless of course they were set in line with the angle of the tunnel!! LOL regardless, I like the lines in this Phil!
@sparkle@judithg@sleepdozer57 ....i've been back into PSE and straightened the original and the edited one looks bettter !!! So this image is OFFICIALLY WONKY !!!
I must follow Peter's lead ...don't rush your posting on here...check em first !!!
The black and white does add atmosphere and so does the the slant!!! I think it gives a stronger incline appearance to the path. Is it a nice stroll with a bit of a work out?
@marlboromaam thanks Maggie, the pathway was part of a circular route we did yesterday afternoon....quite an urban walk ....about 3 miles....Ruby appreciated the brisk walk (well whippets walk fast) !!!
