This is a picture of a Sushi restaurant in a shopping centre. I use the word 'restaurant' rather loosely. It's not my idea of fun, sitting in a shopping centre being gawped at as you pick your food off a conveyor belt. In fact some people sit in front of the sink watching the kitchen staff wash the dishes !!! I can't see much cooking going on either !!!! One might say Sushi does not need cooking, but they do hot food here.
However, it seems to appeal to some people, so who am I to cast judgement.
This is 'Yo! Sushi' in Solihull, Birmingham
We went to a 'gluten free food show' in Solihull this morning. (my wife has coeliac disease and has to have a gluten free diet) and then we went for some retail therapy and a meal in a 'sit down at a table and be waited on by a nice young man' type of restaurant.
A very grainy shot in colour, but it seems to work as a monochrome
Hey Phil, Yo! can't slag off Yo! The hot stuff's yummy (esp peppered squid!) Coeliac is very tough - my friend's daughter is really struggling with it (dairy-free as well at the moment).
@judithg Judith, i did think carefully about my words when posting....I think it's the 'sitting in the middle of the shopping centre bit' that I don't understand ...glad the food is yummy though :)
Yes rather a chimpanzee at the zoo feeding time moment I think-but hey no one looks what folk do these days!! I quite like sushi & do have it in NZ & I always think it's healthy stuff getting you full without putting the weight on! Plenty of people shopping in Nottingham!!!! The coeliac bread is much improved to what it used to be don't you think? I sometimes have guests with that disease & they always bring their own bread & the last lot was quite soft instead of hard & much more available too.
@happypat thanks Pat , my wife was only diagnosed about 18 months ago so we've only experienced the 'current bread'. It's expensive mind you, although she can get some GF products on prescription !
It's interesting to have a birds eye view of Yo Sushi. I have to admit I prefer the 'nice young man' type of restaurant too! I do like this shot as I find myself poring over the details!
Such an interesting shot, agree with Pat, love looking at all the details, love the grainy texture suits the shot well, cannot comment on Yo as have never tried it!!
Interesting B/W Phil, theres so much to look at. I sometimes give in to my kids nagging and eat at Yo Sushi in St.Pancras station which has probably a similar goldfish bowl feel to it! Nice sushi but not enough vegetarian options - we can only eat about 5 dishes!
