An early start from Nottingham. I was in Bolton by 10.00 am.
Cooked my Mum some dinner, had a natter, got some old black and white pictures to scan from my late Dad's photo collection (WOW my hair was long when I was 16 / 17).
Went to the football after dinner.
Bolton Wanderers beat Bristol City 3-2.
We came back from 2-0 down in 20 minutes and played some rather lovely football...well football is the beautiful game ! The 'caretaker' management team of Phillips, Darby and Lee did a great job. All ex-players and Darby and Phillips are Bolton lads !!! Give the job to them Mr. Chairman !!
As I walked away from the Reebok Stadium (I say walk ...I actually run ...to get ahead of the crowds, to ensure a quick getaway home to Nottingham), I glanced back to see the low evening sun illuminating the stadium.
It wasn't quite a sunset...it was a tad too early ...but the light was lovely and made for an iconic shot of the floodlights against the sun ...almost contre jour ....but the sun is in the top left hand corner !
A few quick shots while on the move and this one was my fave...adjusted the saturation a tad ....isn't tad a great word :) ?
Gorgeous well done, lovely silhouette of what I first thought was a boat of some sort!!.how was I to know?!! Now then when are we going to see the 16 year old lad then?!! Did you ever wear loons?!! and yes, tad is a very useful word!!! :))
I love the tilt of your Reebok Stadium when I drive past which I will be doing next Monday, it has a rather jaunty look about it specially if you won! Things are looking up Phil! I never understand when a team is doing well under caretaker management why they don't leave well alone!!!
@happypat thanks pat, well when you drive by tomorrow , you can smile knowing that your frined from 365 has spent many a happy hour there and quite a few frustrating ones too !!!
great shot of the early evening light Phil - and agree tad is a great word!! LOL to @allie912 I love that we all speak the same language but some words are pertinant to certain countries! Natter is to busily chat...chatter and natter - what you do over a nice english cup of tea!
