This is the Giltbrook Retail Park, Nottingham, home to Ikea, Decathlon, BHS, Next, Laura Ashley, Boots, Pets at Home ............you get the picture ....apart from Ikea and Decathlon it could be any retail park plonked outside any major town or city in the UK.
I've always admired the architecture of this bit of the park.......glass, girders and lots of light....whenever I've tried to photograph it it has been too busy, but this morning we were there quite early (before the crowds one might say), so i managed to grab a few quick shots with my little panny.
Trademark 'Phil crouching down' for a low POV, to emphasise the lines and use the path and pillars as lead in lines.
If you look right at the bottom of the path, you can just make out 'Comet'. So that's another retail unit that will be empty in a few weeks. Sad isn't it ?
Years since I have been in an Ikea....do you ever get out of those shops?? Quite like the shop though & clever the way they manouver you where they want to past everything.
