It snowed hard this afternoon. Lots of snow moving and blowing around.
I wanted to get a shot that showed the 'snow falling' and show people 'walking through blowing snow'.
I think I succeeded in achieving what I set out to do.
The 'lady in red', with the colourful umbrella was an added bonus.
I followed her through Arnold, but this was probably the best shot I achieved.
I could do with the car either not being there or the whole of the car in the frame, but when it's snowing hard and your camera is getting wet, you don't have that much time to get the perfect composition.
Probably best viewed large to appreciate the snow blowing around !!!
Wonderful picture. At first I thought you had used selective color, but now I realize the bright primary colors are "popping" out of the snowy picture. Lovely, especially with the magnifier.
Cars are always a darn nuisance in the wrong place, how many times do I grumble at cars specially ones parked along the side of the road spoiling good photos. | really like your snow photo Phil & think you have caught that head down snow flakes in face feeling really well. It's hard to get the flakes to show up but you can see them easily here.
You followed a lady around Arnold......................lol!! I think you achieved your goal here......you've certainly had more of the white stuff than us. Great shot Phil.
Yes indeed - a great job. We were travelling to Sheffield yesterday - it was a dreadful journey, and by early evening there was about 4 inches of snow lying.
I have the same umbrella as the lady you followed! (we'll say no more about that!) Excellent photo Phil, really get a feel for the mad blowy snow and the people struggling against it.
