Each summer, Nottingham City Council transform the "market square / slab square" into the Nottingham Riviera.
Although adding Riviera seems a little overoptimistic, because the funfair, burgers, hotdogs and slot machines give it a somewhat Nottingham / Skegness by the sea feeling, rather than the chic French resorts that adorn the Riviera.
Anyway, the event is always popular and one should congratulate the city council for the annual summer event
It looks a rather surreal scene with the 'Council House' dominating the seaside skyline
It does look surreal especially with no water in the vicinity. But it looks quite a lovely place for some relaxing time. Thanks for sharing this lovely shot.
At least Its something Different most Council do not Organize any thing for there Markets , a part from where I live In Walton the Town centre puts on a Farmers Market on every 1st week end of each Month lol nothing Riviera about that.
What a great idea....the council must have been inspired! The building does look surreal on the beach........how enterprising......I can't see any knotted hankies on heads or is it only Lancashire folk that do that?
