I cannot believe how quickly I've reached 18 in my series.
This is my 3rd image of a Bolton Wanderers 'matchday programme' seller. They seem to be quite a photogenic set of sellers.
I asked this gentleman if I could take his photo and he willingly obliged.
My trips to see the Wanderers are proving quite fruitful in my quest to reach 50 portraits.
I've got another game this weekend so I might be able to get another set of shots outside the ground.
I'm sort of getting the hand of asking strangers if it's ok to take a picture of them ...I smile and say "Excuse me, do you mind if I take a photo of you, I'm doing a photography project on portraits...." and then I take it from there :)
BTW : I printed the image of the my first programme seller and gave it to him at the weekend. He was well pleased :)
After I'd post processed to mono, I thought I'd blown out his eyebrows. However when I looked at the original he does have a lot of grey hairs and they are very bushy. He could do with a trip to my hairdressers. Gary quite often trims my eyebrows, not that they are bushy I may add, but he keeps them tidy and he said I have one long grey one. I said shall I pluck it and he said NOOOOOO !!! He said I might miss it and then end up plucking 2 or 3 and then I will have a gap in my eyebrow ! Anyway no. 18 in my series :)
This guy has a very nice face Phil........a good approach to the subject, I must remember that! You are a good portrait photographer & you don't over edit.
Fav for me - this is a great portrait - I bet he'd like a copy as well. Nigel says his barber trims all sorts of things he didn't realise needed trimming!
