Inside the Tulip by phil_howcroft

Inside the Tulip

Our tulips flowered today, they have some lovely vibrant oranges and yellows.

I photographed this one in the shade (I blocked the sun out with my body), to ensure I didn't get any blown out highlights and colours in the shot.

Post processed in rawtherapee

The bunch of tulips have appeared in my 365 before, almost four years to the day back in 2011

Like the idea and composition - a fantastic burst of orange.

A very clear & detailed shot of the centre of that tulip. I think your strategy worked well......no glary overblown middle! Such vivid colour.

Great detail and a gorgeous colour - this shot is just a bit more vibrant than the 4-years-ago one. It's also a departure from the shots of yours which I've seen since I've been following your page. I like it!

You're right, I find tulips quite hard to photograph, especially if they're in the sun. Great colour here.

@quietpurplehaze thanks hazel , i remember the older shot was in full sun (which tends to burn out the colours a little), but this one I shaded the sun with my body, i post processed a bit differently too . I tend to do a lot of flower macros in spring / summer :)
