This young lady was busking in the city today, so I approached her between songs and asked her for a quick portrait.
She is going to be one of my mono portrait series, but I just had to show you the colour image as her striking hair just has to be shown in colour
A voice to match her smile too , very soulful , a bit Adele / Annie Lenox in tone and style
I was going to show her microphone in shot, but I cropped it out as the window on the left hand side of the frame had a "red / yellow beware burglars" sign, which just kept catching the eye away from the her.
Edited in Rawtherapee (a highly reccomended editor).
@newbank thanks newbank , her beautiful voice was drifting up climber street on Sunday morning. She seemed surprised that I wanted to take a photo and a tad coy which was in contrast to her confident singing
I'm sure she'll look good in mono and I love mono, as I'm sure you're aware but I feel this is a time when colour is part of the image's story. Her hair is gorgeous and her top suits her colouring so well ; they are a part of who she is, I think.
Would love to have heard her sing.
Great image, Phil, so full of life and the catchlights are perfect
@dulciknit thanks alison, the catchlights are natural , I did nothing other than point the camera, her positioning and the natural light must have been very good
