50 mono portraits at 50mm : No. 40 : Looking after his community
This is Roger, he approached us at Arnold Carnival at the weekend, he was promoting a charity football match and fun day that he is running later in the summer.
He has set up a local football team, "The Real United FC", whose purpose is to enhance the health, aspirations, and quality of life for young people, resident in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, including those with challenging personal circumstances; through Football and associated activities.
He came across as a decent bloke, working hard to enhance the life of his local community. After he'd told us about his project, I asked him if I could take his picture. He said yes it was OK and I took a couple of shots, shook his hand and wished him luck in his venture
Links to the football team and a bit about Roger are shown below
He does look very kind - he has a warm smile.
I followed your link. His story is an interesting one - he's well placed to understand the kids he wants to help and how good that somebody who can relate to them wants to help them out.
Not only a good portrait but some interesting background too.
