Scrum by phil_howcroft

Scrum

While out walking Ruby at Burntstump Country Park, we passed a local Rugby Club.

I don't follow Rugby, but the opportunity to take a few images on a bitterly cold Saturday afternoon had to be grasped, although not as hard as the grasping going on in this Rugby scrum

Letterboxed with a National Geographic filter in GIMP

Great capture! Wonderful color and letterbox is perfect. Love the word scrum. It is like no other!

Nice action shot.

at least they do grasp - the scrums in our league now are bloody pathetic - they should just do a hand over or throw in

Wonderful colors and action. Is there a difference between Rugby and Soccer? Sorry....not up on those sports.

Those guys must be very tough - and probably, a bit crazy. That sport is not for me though I don't mind watching it on tv. Beautiful capture.

A very sharp image Phil!

Nice bit of action Phil! Some mixed stripes on the tops and socks side of things!

I think this scrum works really well Phil. Tidier photo than football with a proper focus. The colours are good too .....all in all better than a football shot, there again I would rather look at a rugby game.

Thanks for sharing.

@eyesmile

All I can contribute is that the balls are a different shape, the goalposts also and I guess the rules differ too.

Ray would appreciate this shot, Phil, as he played rugby at school and likes to watch it on TV. Definitely a hands on shot!

Great capture and once again a perfect choice for a letterbox crop.
Not a great fan of any sport but give me a game of rugby over soccer any day of the week - better discipline, less gamesmanship and the ref. is king.
