Kirk's Dik Dik in the Grasses

This is a Kirk's Dik Dik, shot in the grasses of Twycross Zoo at the weekend .

For those of you not familiar with Kirk's Dik Dik they are found in Eastern and South Western Africa.

The name Dik Dik comes from the sound they make when startled.

Luckily for me this beautiful Dik Dik did not Dik Dik when I took some wonderful images of it :)

I like story-telling images and also those that spark my curiosity. I just had to go and read up about this little creature after viewing your shot. It was interesting to learn the ways they have adapted to deal with the dry areas in which they live.
