COSMOS

This is a little Cosmos Flower dangling from one of our hanging baskets.

We grew them from seeds and now they are starting to bloom.

There is a little bug on the left hand petal (8 o'clock 'ish), which I thought of cloning out, but then decided it was there , so it stays.

Shot with my old Panasonic TZ7 (it does great macros) and edited in GIMP.

Looks like a greenfly perhaps Phil, the right colour anyway! Very clear & it looks lovely with the black background. We put our gphanging basket up today too, what a weight it was! First time we had it filled professionally & it cost a lot! I wasn't up to it this year but might do it again next year to save the money. Will show it one day when it's recovered from travelling in the car!

I have an FZ45 and it, too, takes great macros (sometimes I prefer it to my Nikon D3100 for close-ups. Looks like a perfect flower and very beautiful, too. The bug doesn't effect the beauty of the flower.

I never knew what these flowers were called until last year. They are so pretty with the delicate pink tinges towards the centre.

Which type of cosmos are they? I have grown sensation mixed and purity but they are a tad big for containers/baskets
