These two Police Outriders stopped the traffic at the Dorket Head traffic lights, Arnold, prior to the riders arriving.
If you view large you can see one of the bikes is from Devon and Cornwall Police, which is a very long way from Nottingham ! There wee also Welsh outriders too
Wonder why they'd come from so far afield? A bit of in-service training, maybe? Or maybe the bikes themselves were on loan and the officers were locals.
Maybe you could keep an eye open for a police motorcyclist for your 100 Strangers and ask! ;-)
I was thinking the same thing - they tour with them every day rather than mobilize a separate force in each place. I think one of them is getting his sandwiches out of the other guy's panier ;)
I envy you having those cyclists darting so close to where you live. I have a passion for pro cycling even though I cannot ride a bike. Not too many people around though. A great candid, Phil. Well done.
I was so impressed with the organisation when I saw it last year, hardly any disruption to traffic. I didn't notice where the police bikes were from though, they went past too fast!
