There is something rather nice about walking one’s dog in a city centre. Ruby gets lots of new smells to sniff, pigeons to chase (while on a lead, no chance of catching them) and she gets a few awwws and requests to stroke her !
Ruby got an awwwwww when Marina saw her at the top of Hockcley in Nottingham. She came over to say hello to Ruby and stroke her. I told her about Ruby’s history of being a rescue dog and we had a little chat. I also used the introduction as an opportunity to request a photo from both Marina and her friend Mika.
Marina is an overseas student studying modern languages in her second year. She comes from Cyprus and her chosen languages for her course are French and Spanish.
When I asked Marina for a shot she asked me if I wanted to photograph her with or without her face mask. I said without mask as it would make a nicer photo.
It was a bright and sunny day and I asked Marina to move towards the shade of of an "old school " telephone box . Marina was pleased the the backdrop was a telephone box as it was quite iconic !
After I’d done the photo’s I told her they looked very good ...”tres bien” I said trying to be smart !!!! I then told her I could not think of the Spanish equivalent … “Muy bueno” Marina told me !!!
Thanks for being stranger 231 Marina, good luck with your studies. I then turned my attention to Marina’s friend, Mika, who is stranger 232
No wonder she liked the background, quite a nice choice fir a foreign student! Hope she requested a copy for her family at home. I bet you made their day! She’s a pretty girl!
She has a lovely soft smile which you have captured extremely well. The telephone box makes a superb background as it adds colour to your picture. She still has the Mediterranean complexion we are used to.
Does not draw the eye!
