100 Strangers : Round 3 : No. 237 : Amy

I have been taking my little whippet dog, Ruby into Nottingham City Centre for walks. My wife went into the shops while Ruby and I went exploring the city for strangers.

I decided to visit Sneinton Market, on the fringes of the city centre. There is a vegan market and some old Art Deco style buildings that used to be home to a wholesale fruit and veg market. The Art Decor area has been branded as “The Avenues”, with the buildings converted into “creative workspaces”. There are also some market stalls dotted around “The Avenues”

It was in “The Avenues” that I met Amy and her boyfriend Matthew. They were selling home made, skin care products made with organic ingredients, vegan, cruelty free and eco-friendly. I was walking by their stall and smiled at them both and they smiled back and gestured to Ruby to come to them. Matthew told me he was a dog walker and walked a dog exactly the same as Ruby, he’d had to do a double take to make sure it wasn’t her ! I asked him where he walked dogs and he said Surbiton.

Amy and Matthew had driven 3 hours to be at the market. “It was an early start” said Matthew !

Amy told me it was their first ever market stall, she was excited about the event and was hoping to do more markets.

I asked them if they would participate in my 100 strangers project either together or individually. Matthew suggested I photograph Amy as she was the “Creative Director” of the enterprise.

I asked Amy if I could do some head shots and then some full length shots of her beside her stall.

I decided to post one of the head shots as the photo to the back story. I’ve done several mono images in my recent stranger shots and the mono head shot of Amy really looks good, so I have gone with that as the main shot to the story.

Amy had a really nice accent, so I asked her what her accent was. “French” replied Amy

“Ahhh, merci pour la photo.”

I wished Amy good luck with her venture and we exchanged cards.
