100 Strangers : Round 3 : No. 238 : Darren, Jimmy and Paula
After I’d photographed my previous stranger (Amy, number 237), I walked over to the communal seating area for the coffee houses and cafe’s of the “Sneinton Market Avenues” to review the images of Amy on my camera. I don’t really know why I do this as I sort of check them as I go along and besides if I had messed them up, I wasn’t going to go back and ask to shoot them again !
Anyway as I was reviewing the images, I noticed a couple having a coffee on one of the wooden seats and they had a little puppy dog with them. The puppy looked like a baby whippet, so I just had to go and have a look.
As I approached the couple, I asked them if it was a “Whippet Dog”.
It was a whippet. Meet Jimmy and his human owners Darren and Paula.
Jimmy is only 10 weeks old and this was his first trip out. I introduced him to my whippet, Ruby. I asked if I could stroke Jimmy. His fur was so gentle and Jimmy had that beautiful look that all whippet dogs have (I am a little biased there in my admiration for whippets, but they are really cute).
I had a whippet dog chat with Darren and Paula (well that’s what Whippet owners do). Ruby seemed to quite like Jimmy, a mutual respect between whippets.
I told Darren and Paula about my street photography and strangers project and said the three of them would make great strangers. As you can see from the photo, they do indeed make great strangers.
I gave them a card and said I would send them some photos if they emailed me.
I have since had emails from both Darren and Paula saying they really like the photos and the photos are a great way to commemorate Jimmy’s big day out.
Darren also mentioned football in his mail, he spends quite a lot of time working in Manchester, so knows several other long suffering Bolton Wanderers fans like myself !
Jimmy might only be little, but he does a good job at being the “star of the show” for the photo. His trade mark whippet ears, nose and eyes look fabulous between Darren and Paula.
Thanks, Darren and Paula, for being strangers number 238 in my project. I am sure Jimmy will bring years of joy and happiness into your home.
I’ve posted another stranger story in mono. Followers will know I like a mono photo and this photo has that special mono quality to it.
@jackies365 thanks Jackie i am pleased with how this turned out 😀
