We went on a "Bug Hunt Nature Trail" today at the Bennerley Viaduct.
The hunt was organised by the "Friends of Bennerley Viaduct", a family fun morning aimed at children. We walked the nature trail underneath the viaduct, following two local guides from the FoBV group. We saw flowers , fauna, wild birds and Willow and myself dug up some worms from under a brick.
We then headed onto the viaduct and walked across the Erewash Valley.
This is a family photo, shot on our daughter Claire's iPhone by one of the volunteers.

Nice team photo :)
FYI : Bennerley Viaduct is an engineering marvel. It stands 20m above the Erewash Valley, and is a quarter of a mile long. This grade 2* listed railway viaduct was built in 1877 by the Great Northern Railway Company. It is the longest wrought iron viaduct in the country and crosses the River Erewash connecting Ilkeston, Derbyshire with Awsworth, Nottinghamshire
Such a lovely group photo. Elsie looks very much at home with her family. Love Willow's all in one. My grandkids all had one of those! Thank you for sharing with us.
@tinley23 thanks Lesley , the viaduct is a fabulous structure
