I was in Nottingham Market Square taking a photo of “half a big wheel” (they are building the Nottingham Christmas Market Fair), when a lady approached me and told me that I looked like I knew how to take a photo and promptly handed me her mobile phone and asked me to take some selfie’s of her.
So I moved her to the arches of the council house and took several photos of her.
I noticed she was wearing a small religious cross necklace and asked her if she was religious.
“Oh let me get my rosary beads out and take a photo of me wearing them”
While taking the photos I asked her name
“Dorothy” she told me
I asked her if she was local and what church did she attend.
She told me it was St. Marys Catholic church Nottingham and she lived in Nottingham but was from Nigeria.
I asked her if she knew Jay Jay Okocha, Nigerian’s most famous and probably Africa’s most famous footballer . When I said knew, I meant knew of him !!! She did of course and I told her he used to play for my team Bolton Wanderers. So we had a little chat about Jay Jay.
I then asked Dorothy if I could take her photo, she did ask what I would do with it , so I showed her my Insta’ account and she took a photo of my phone so she could see her photos when I post them.
