Poppy by phil_sandford

Poppy

ANother swelteringly hot day here in the Shire; after a lay in and a healthy breakfast, Carole and I took a drive out armed with cameras to a local 'open garden' that we last visited 5 years or so ago (it was there that my love of Dahlias was born).

We spent a couple of hours wandering around borders that I would die for (borders that 1) I cannot afford and 2) I'm not home anywhere near enough to look after (maybe after retirement).

Anyway, it would appear that they have also left quite some considerable areas to 'meadow' - to just grow wild and it was in these areas that the last of the Poppies were growing and, as I may have mentioned before, I can't resist a poppy.

Thank you for your views, comments and favs on yesterday’s offering. Much appreciated.

Beautiful shot, I'm rather partial to a poppy myself
