A gorgeous day, the morning spent at Fountains Abbey (after a spectacular Yorkshire breakfast at the B&B) and then a drive out to a couple of waterfalls on the River Ure in the Yorkshire Dales.
Aysgarth Falls, which consists of 3 separate falls, along a length of about 500 metres and these, the Hardraw Force Falls at, funny old thing, Hardraw near Hawes.
The actual falls are a huge drop, 30 metres, (the figure in blue to the right of the falls is Carole) and is reputed to be Englands highest 'unbroken' watwrfall and, as I'm sure you all knew, I was never not going to play with long exposure and try for silky water.
Have lots of others from the day for fillers - you know, for when life gets in the way.
Wow.that's some waterfall..love the noise..and that little touch of blue which is carole ..u guys picked a great weekend..ain't nothing like a Yorkshire breakfast!
Been here loads of times Phil. Love the place. Did you also know Robin Hood:Prince of Thieves was filmed here and that the falls were used to film the staff fight scene between Robin Hood and Little John. That movie was the reason we first visited there way back in 1992 :) Lovely shot :)
@paul10 We were told by the landlady that Kevin Costner had been there for the Prince of Thieves film; also that they have a brass band competition there annualy. It's a stunning place, weird that you have to go through a pub to get there though :-D
