Lladro Ballerina by phil_sandford

Lladro Ballerina

Carole has a number of these beautiful and very delicate Ladro ballerina figurines; my mother had a few as well and she left those to Carole in her will (I also think at least one was left to our daughter, Fiona)

We bought most of ours whilst on holiday in the Canary Islands. I can remember vividly the worry of transporting them home as hand luggage on the plane and hoping they would make it back to the UK in one piece; they all did over the years. I can also remember one Sunday afternoon when Carole was working dusting them and managing to break the head of one of the figurines. A frantic phone call to the art dealer on the island of Gran Canaria and they had FedEx’d a replacement figurine to me within the week.

I’ve not used them as subject before, but thought I would give it a go; the delicate colouring of the figurine is made it very difficult to replicate the High Key of yesterday‘s alstroemeria photograph, but I’m still happy with this.

Thank you for your views, comments and favs on yesterday’s offering. Much appreciated.
Nice capture of the delicate Lladro colours.
