They put in the much needed sea defences to stop the town flooding at high tides. The hope is that these groynes would also create or hold some sand. As you can see there is a lovely growth of some sort of sea grass. But it still makes a good habitat for the birds. Further into town the have put sand in between the groynes and it seems to be staying put, except on windy/stormy days then it ends up on the prom. It is lovely to see families playing on the beach on sunny days.
So nice to see that something is been done that enhances nature and man.
