A number of you have commented on the scars on some of the sharks. This one had the worst so I thought I would share it with you.
Despite all the scarring and wounds, she appeared to be as healthy as the rest and was a frequent visitor to the cage.
@nickspicsnz thanks Nick, the older ones of course seem to have the most scars. @happysnaps Thanks Val, I gather mating, and giant squid etc can be responsible for the wounds. @ludwigsdiana you could be right, I didn't test her! @rensala I think these wounds can happen during mating, or perhaps during a big feed, or from large prey like giant squid @robz thanks Rob, see also above, but I gather mating can be a major source of wounds! @dutchothotmailcom thanks Esther, we were very happy with the new underwater lights and gopro 10 @olivetreeann thanks Ann, they are mostly pretty calm around the cage and I didn't feel scared, just fascinated! @rickster549 and these with a go pro superwide angle lens, so YES they were close:)
