pink rosebud with greenfly

This climbing rose is on the wall just outside our ktichen window. It's called 'Compassion' and has a lovely perfume.

I bet that will smell lovely when it comes out fully. This seems quite early - ours are not at this stage yet but those dreaded greenfly are a pest!

What a beautiful rose. Not sure whether it was intentional but you also captured those nasty little aphids that suck the goodness out of the petals. Time to get the spray out :-)

@rosiekind We do live in a very sheltered area but only have 2 roses fully out plus this bud now.

I am afraid those greenfly are an omen of things to come this summer...
Lucky you having a rose almost about to bloom, ours are way behind. Lovely shot of it, despite the little devils!

@herussell I'll give them a spray with some soapy water - bit more eco-friendly than insecticide.
