I've never seen one of these Hazel - where is it?

@glenmoor It's in Hillier's Arboretum, loads of fruit on the tree. Another visitor told us about it and then I googled it.

@wordpixman @chrismarfil @gnilrets @pyrrhula @judithg @tishpics @samr @glenmoor thanks everyone for your comments - I'd never seen these fruits on the tree, but having looked online I think I've seen it in flower (white) but did not know what it was. A bit more info on the fruit here http://firstways.com/2010/10/09/dogwood-tree-edible-fruits/

Apparently? Hazel what happened to being adventurous for your art? I love your composition - centred surrounded by the other fruit.

so pretty! I posted a shot of one of these a little while ago and NOBODY had heard Dogwood doing this. Glad to see I was not wrong.
October 28th, 2012
@doblaine Well I didn't actually taste one!!! OK I'll ban 'apparently' from now on!!

@vickisfotos Vicki, that's interesting - I started to doubt myself a little too when nobody had heard of this!! I think it's just a specific species of dogwood bears fruit and the flowers are small, white and profuse. Is it easy to give me the ref to yours? I'd like to see it.

@quietpurplehaze I have been there at this time of year but don't recall seeing it.

not sure what I am doing wrong, it won't post...I know you have to remove parts of the link...anyway, it is Sept 23....It also includes a link to a Google search I had done because nobody had heard of it. Like you, I began to question myself.
October 28th, 2012
ok, I have tried a few ways and none of them work...sorry
October 28th, 2012
ok, sorry to fill up your mailbox...I guess when putting a link in the comment box, you have to copy and past from the upper address bar, not the lower code from the share box...

@vickisfotos Thanks, Vicki- I saw your shot and think your dogwood is a slightly different variety with different shaped leaves. Your google search was interesting too, thank you. (Yes I can use the upper address bar but haven't yet been able to fathom the working of the lower code from the share box. Thanks for taking the trouble!)

What an interesting looking fruit, if it tastes like lychee it must be good. Nice shot Hazel.
